What do you look forward to the most about coming to Uni?
University High School is an amazingly diverse community and I am excited to meet students, parents and staff members from such unique backgrounds.
Why did you decide to become an administrator?
Transitioning out of the classroom was a difficult decision for me.  In the end, I was drawn to an opportunity to be a part of the work on all aspects to a school organization and to team with everyone on a campus to make our school great for kids.
What part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I truly enjoy being a part of so many people’s journeys.  Coming alongside students and families during these four years is an absolute privilege.  Working with our team of employees to make the experience for our kids as powerful as it can be is not just a job, but a calling.
What advice would you give to the students at Uni?
Take a risk.  During a time when there is so much pressure to perform and be the best, I encourage students to try something new – dare to do something that might be a little intimidating, but from which you will grow.  If we just stick with what we are comfortable with, we’ll miss out on a whole lot of adventure!

What do you look forward to the most about coming to Uni?
I always somewhat regretted not making the move here when I had the chance 18 years ago.  To come back as the principal for the county’s DHH Program is a dream job for me.  The DHH Program here at UNI is nationally recognized and is a model for many others.  It’s a very dedicated group of teachers and staff here, and I am very excited to be a part of that.
Why did you decide to become an administrator?
I have always been pushed that way and encouraged to take on leadership roles.  With a mother, who was an advocate, and a younger brother, who is Deaf, I come with pretty unique perspective and skill set.
What part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I have always enjoyed working with students and their families and the team approach to student success.
